The ask was to develop a campaign leveraging Windhoek’s sponsorship of Namibia’s biggest artist,
Gazza, as he releases his highly anticipated album “Misunderstood”.
Like most industries around the world, the Internet has changed the status quo. The entertainment industry is no different. We saw this as an opportunity for an artist as big as Gazza to do something truly memorable. Apart from the actual album launch, we helped rally Namibians to get Gazza’s Chelete music video to one-million YouTube views. A first for a Namibian artist. But we didn’t stop there. After reaching one-million views, The Gazza Milli Concert was announced! This would be a thank you to Namibia for its support of one of its biggest musical heroes. The campaign was a success not only exceeding business objectives but also helping Namibia achieve one of the best moments in Namibian entertainment history. Bringing to life a truly perfect moment in Namibian entertainment history.
The nation was overwhelmed by the fact that they had helped Gazza reach over one-million views and that they were part of one of the biggest concerts Namibia had ever seen. Even calling it, ‘History in the making’.
The track even went on to win ‘song of the year’.
